I played the electric guitar quite a bit as a teenager, but by the late 90s, I had long since stopped. My guitar sat quietly in the closet until around 2000 when I pulled it out, dusted it off, and began practicing again. In 2002, I recorded my first piece with it in many years, using my ever faithful Emu Esi-32 for realizing the backing tracks.
